Affiliate links

Some links on Show Them Once are affiliate links. If you buy something through one, I may earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra and it does not change what the page says.

Where they are

Only in the gear list on a pursuit page, under its own heading, with a one-line disclosure above the first link. Affiliate links never appear inside the writing itself. That is enforced by the site’s build, not by habit: a page whose prose contains an affiliate address will not build. Most pursuits here cost nothing to start and carry no gear list at all.

Which programs

Where a link goes to Amazon, it is an Amazon affiliate link. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Other programs, if any are added, will be named here.

What it does not change

Nothing is recommended because it pays. The gear lists are short, name the plainest thing that works, and say when the answer is “a pen and a napkin.” No page on the site is sponsored, no product placement is sold, and no manufacturer has seen a page before it went up.

How links are marked

Affiliate links carry the sponsored and nofollow attributes, which tell search engines what they are. If you would rather not use one, search for the item yourself; the page will read the same.
